I just had crazy Friday idea!
as arena seems to be still active but somehow more in fun tags / public servers rather than scrims, i though maybe we could arrange some tourney / cup to get people back together in their clans?
as people are on chillin mood now and also many are busy i though about going against all my standards (way i think and my values of the game) and arrange kind of carnage / fraging cup.
my concept at the moment was about kind of merge of FFA and TDM mode - there will be 4 people from each clan but mode of the game will be FFA - something interesting to adjust your style to and different tactics as well - camping will not be easy and also not beneficial.
and so there will be groups - depending how many clans will sign up for and each will have number of games - i would rather like them to be pretty short - kind of like sprint: 1-2min warm up, 5 min time-limit and / or some 60-70 frag-limit.
what i would add here to benefit whole arena and make people learn maps better - disclude dm7 and maybe some other maps which are regularly played and play some not so popular / custom maps...
about weather to do it in fastrail or / and slowrail... i would suggest both but maybe we could just attract slowrailers to fastrail to make cup more occupied.
about winning and losing - my concept was first of all there would be statistics about the most damaging player (one who does most of frags), as a clan - total score of each match is calculated and winner is awarded, maybe some extra points for exceeding some fraglimit (teamfrags).
match schedule - group games would take once per week - so that i guess all would be able to gather decent team and cup would also last longer than usual so that people get occupied in arena in cup matches rather than public - more skilled opponents, fun, plus clan activity.
